Some states have been the birthplace of a few presidents, while others have seen none. Using the information in the chart below, write at least three probability statements about the likelihood of a president having been born in a state of your choosing.

Valentine’s Day 

In a class of 10, how many total Valentine’s cards are exchanged if each student gives a card to everyone in the class? a class of 20? a class of 25? Write an equation to show your thinking. Write a generalized rule to find the total number of cards for any number of students in a classroom.

Snowman

The largest snowman ever built was constructed in Bethel, Maine. The snowman was 122 feet tall with 27-foot evergreen trees for arms. Create a scale drawing of the snowman, indicating the scale you used, and the diameter of each of the three snowballs used in your snowman drawing. Show how you know your drawing is to scale.
