Early Childhood
Before going outside to play in the snow, four children each needed to find their mittens. Count by 2’s to find out how many mittens were missing.
Upper Elementary
On Thanksgiving day this year, some families woke up to as much as 3 inches of snow, but Massachusetts’ record one-day snowfall was 21 inches in 1978. How much snow is that in feet? Write your answer as a mixed fraction and explain your thinking to defend your solution.

During a snowfall 6.2 x 10 to the 10th power snowflakes filled a bucket. How many snowflakes is that in standard form?
