Halloween

Jess and Joey went trick-or-treating. They were hoping to visit all 60 houses in their neighborhood. It takes 3 minutes to visit each house. It takes 2 minutes t walk between houses.

How long will it take them to trick-or-treat this year? Explain your solution.

 ◇ ◇ ◇

What might be some popular Halloween costumes this year?  Estimate the percentage of trick-or-treaters that you might see dressed up as each popular Halloween costume.  Create a graph to show your thinking.

Foliage

Gather and sort a pile of leaves by color. Create a bar graph to represent the results.

 ◇ ◇ ◇

Write a mathematical question to gather data about the changing leaves outside.

Take a walk and gather and summarize your findings. Some ideas are:

How many OR  What fraction of the trees have green/ yellow / orange / red  leaves?

What is the most common color of leaves? How do you know?
