National Candy Month

The month of June is a time of celebration with graduations and Father’s Day.  Did you know it is also National Candy Month?  Celebrate candy month with these delicious problems!

Early Childhood

If there are 10 Starbursts in one package, how many are in 5 packages?  Count by 10s to find the answer.

Upper Elementary

In opening a bag of M&Ms, Kara found 63 candies, of the following colors: 8 blue, 10 red, 9 green, 7 yellow, 12 orange, and the rest brown.  Make a graph of the candy to represent how many M&Ms Kara had of each color.  Which color had the most candies?  Which had the least?  What was the range?

Middle School

In the U.S., over 400 million M&Ms are produced each day, how many are produced in one year?  In 5 years?  In 10 years?  Use exponents to represent your answer.
