Spring Training

Baseball teams across the country have reported for spring training. Opening day is just around the corner.

Early Childhood:

While packing the truck for spring training, the Red Sox brought with them 320 practice shirts. What number represents 100 more than 320? 100 less? What number is 10 more? 10 less? Explain how you know using place value language.

Upper Elementary:

The Red Sox packed 320 practice shirts and 160 white game jerseys for spring training. Find all common factors of 320 and 160. Write a math rule to explain your thinking.

Middle School:

The Red Sox brought the following in their truck as they headed to Florida for spring training: 320 batting practice tops; 160 white game jerseys; 1,100 bats; 20,400 baseballs; 20 cases of bubble gum; and 60 cases of sunflower seeds. Using this information, write ratio math statements to compare the quantities of the equipment packed for spring training.
